Papers of the Janney and allied families of Gilmour and Pollock consisting of personal and political correspondence, financial and legal papers, genealogical material and photographs, particularly of John Janney of Loudoun County, Va. The papers cover Janney's legal practice, his career as a Whig politician, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, and president of Virginia's secession convention.
